The Beholding Family

The dream of a family that reached across regions and denominations was birthed on the floor of a living room five years ago. Worship that went into the night and meals that lasted for what felt like hours were the environment where the dream began. Family that wasn’t family loving each other to life, caring for each other’s needs, and plunging the depths of the face of God together. Though family members have come and gone over the years, nothing has really changed. Worshipers captivated by Jesus beauty and transformed by his love. The family grew and stretched across boundaries. A movement has begun.

Katherine Penniman

Founder

You could say that The Beholding Project was handed down to Katherine from her grandmother. What began as her grandmother’s favorite statement and piece of advice, “Look to Jesus” has become so deeply engrained into Katherine that it has avalanched into her life’s mission. Beholding Jesus’ beauty- in every circumstance, being transformed into His likeness, and leading others to do the same.

When Katherine and Craig accidentally planted a house church in their living room, it was all from beholding Jesus together in worship. As long as they kept that at the center, the group grew both in grace and size. People’s lives were radically changed in very short periods of time. All through genuine love for one another. As this continued to happen everywhere they moved, they realized God was up to something. But the dream was much bigger than a single “house church.” In fact a church couldn’t contain the dream. The dream was that the body of Christ would come alive through Jesus’ beauty. That silenced voices would break loose. That each and every member of the body would rise up and live a life of every-day worship to HIM.

Katherine is a pioneer, worship leader, artist, and self-produced songwriter. She has led both home gatherings and congregational gatherings in powerful moves of the Spirit. She has a unique ability to steward what Holy Spirit is doing in a room and continuously sees awakening break out. She and her husband, Craig, have a heart for the outcast, misfit, and those hurt by or in the church. Those are the groups of people you’ll find them with. As a family, they often travel to different churches and ministries helping in times of upheaval and transition, meanwhile cultivating the vision that God gave them to pioneer.

Craig Penniman

Co-Founder

Craig has been the rock behind The Beholding Project from the start. In the early days as God gave them vision, He and Katherine dreamed with the Lord about what it would look like to have what we now know as The Beholding Project. He has provided wise counsel for the communities that have sprouted over the years. He has a heart for the outcast and those who have been hurt by the church.

Business man, sound engineer, musician and songwriter, Craig has a heart for equipping sound technicians and musicians to be fruitful members of their local body. He carries a Shepherd’s heart and finds joy in seeing people come alive in their giftings and callings. He has been professionally trained through UMASS Lowell’s prestigious sound recording bachelor’s program and has interned with some of the country’s best technicians. He has an inventive mind and provides great insight in the business world.

Jessica Letourneau

Worship/ Intercession

Jessica would describe herself as “a missionary worshipper on God-assignments for the Kingdom.” She is a skilled worshipper with a pure heart to see Jesus glorified above everything else. Her deep desire is to lead a generation in knowing and encountering the deep, intimate love and presence of the Father. She dreams to initiate Campus crusades across the New England states, building family, and creating a Revival Generation community.

In 2020 God led her to start a youth worship band. They hosted outdoor worship events in several local communities in 21-22. God blessed them with the opportunity to host a worship night in the courtyeard of their high school on Pentecost on Jessica’s senior year. Since the band began in 2020, she has been journeying with the Lord, walking through every door he opens for her. Recently she helped lead a youth worship night at Castleton University in West Rutland, VT. Since then God has been orchestrating campus connections across Vermont.

Jessica can often be found on the team of worshippers at The Beholding Project gatherings, but she is also a steady part of the intercession that upholds the movement. She loves to make videos and any other thing she can work with to further what God is doing with TBP.

Emily Froehlich

Intercession/Administration

Emily loves worship, encouraging the Body, and building the Church, which is what connected her to the Beholding Project. Her heart beats for reaching the lost and seeing other’s God-sized dreams come to fruition. Additionally, God planted a vision in Emily of reaching the nations through the Olympics. She just completed her time as a spare on the US national rowing team at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She had many opportunities to share the goodness of God in the nations. She is currently training again to see how God might use her amongst athletes. Emily is the perfect example of living out God given talents while drawing others to the light of Christ.

Emily was a foundational part of The Beholding Project taking form to what it is today. She can always be found giving of herself to see Jesus magnified. She is a core part of the intercession that holds The Beholding Project together. Her administrative gifting is unmatched- although she would say that’s not necessarily her lane- she brings a steady grounding to the team.
